Issues to be addressed: The aim of this topic is to set out the scientific knowledge about the history of Chenin Blanc in the Loire Valley, South Africa, the USA etc. Why, when, how, at which pace did Chenin become an iconic variety for Anjou/Touraine, whilst being just an ordinary variety in other regions for so long? The history of Chenin Blanc is not only based in the Loire region ; it's spread to South Africa and other countries: where, when, how, by whom?
